Scribe 1.26 releases today, includes bug fixes for the flatten flag, addresses formatting issues with .docx/xlsx files, and added the ability to get PDF metadata.

New version of Web Services Manager 1.522 released today, fixes a bug that was preventing operation caching on Windows.

RemoteScripter 1.782 released today; adds new features, including:

• No longer need to detect FMP client in a start up script
• Prioritizing multiple calls to the same port number by recent
• Allows the user to set HTTPcode and Header-Value pairs.

SuperContainer 2.832 has been released, fixes an issue that made SuperContainer Server crash when uploading a file with a semicolon.

360Works releases Email plugin version 1.962 today!

Changes include:

• Users can now set X-Mailer header manually
• Fix for character encoding on messages containing inline attachments
• Fix for retrieving messages via IMAP from Exchange server, which resulted in a blank message body

SuperContainer 2.831 has been released. Due to problems with Java Update 6 for Snow Leopard and Java Update 1 for Lion (1.6.0.29), Java applets may crash in FileMaker. This crash occurs once a layout that contains an applet is opened. The latest version of SuperContainer works around these issues by switching to an HTML-only mode when running on Mac OS X, without a Java applet. This disables some functionality, including drag and drop. Bug reports have been filed with Apple, listed below:

• Apple bug report #9843334: 32 bit Java crashes when loading applet if JVM has already been loaded
• Apple bug report #9843400: Drag & drop broken with Java applets in Lion

360Works is currently waiting on a fix from Apple to restore this functionality.

ScriptMaster 4.123 is available on our site, this fixes a problem where plugins generated by ScriptMaster Advanced were not compatible with auto-updating from FileMaker Server. Download from http://360works.com/scriptmaster/

All 360Works plug-ins have been updated today to resolve an auto-update issue.

This issue affects all Windows user who are using an auto-update script to install the most recent version of 360Works plug-ins. If you are not using auto-update, or if all of your users are on Mac OS X, you do not need to install this release. If you are using auto-update on Windows, there is a bug with the previous 360Works version that prevents auto-update from closing down the plug-in, which is needed in order to download the most recent version from the server.

First, if you are running auto-update from your own server, install the most recent version of the plug-ins on your server as you normally would for any update. You can download the latest auto-update packages from fmp7://autoupdate.360works.com/AutoUpdate360Works

The next step is to have your Windows users run the uninstaller applet at http://360works.com/remove-plugins/ . This is a very simple process which will remove the old version of the plugin.

After that, your users should be able to auto-update normally without having to uninstall for future updates. In addition, 'hot-swapping' should now work, so that the newest plugin update is immediately available without having to quit and restart FileMaker Pro.

We have released the latest version of our plugin, ScriptMaster 4!

We have been working extremely hard to incorporate all of the suggestions, ideas, and feedback from the thousands of people using ScriptMaster 3, and we think that you will be happy with the result.

Improvements to the new ScriptMaster 4:

• Version 4 delivers major speed and stability improvements: Some ScriptMaster modules, like the choose file dialog and the color picker, display a visible GUI to the user. For other, non-GUI functions (which is the majority of them), we have optimized the threading model to run much faster. For example, the UUID module now generates about 3,300 UUIDs per second in version 4, where version 3 topped out at about 300 UUIDs per second. Compiling and registering modules should also be faster now.

• Version 4 includes the latest Groovy version, 1.7.1. For those of you writing your own ScriptMaster modules in Groovy, this will let you use the latest and greatest third party libraries.

New modules in ScriptMaster 4:

• iPhone push notifications (thanks Todd Geist)
• Path parsing, for easily grabbing sections of an XML document
• Move / rename files (thanks Jack James)
• Recursively get the size of a folder
• Find all image URLs in HTML for screen scraping

Version 4 is much more stable in our testing. Some people reported problems with hanging and freezing in version 3. As far as we can tell, these issues have been resolved.

There are also numerous minor issues which have been addressed, please see the release notes in the download for more details.

Get more power and generate plugins with ScriptMaster 4 Advanced

ScriptMaster 4 is a free product, and we foresee all future releases continuing to be freely distributable. Another option, starting with Version 4, is ScriptMaster Advanced. This is priced at $95 per developer per year, and is also included as part of the 360Works Portfolio License bundle. It includes the following features that are not included in the free version:

• The Advanced Edition will allow you to easily generate your own branded plugins. This greatly simplifies the process of deploying your favorite ScriptMaster modules with your solutions. Just check which modules you want and click the 'Make Plugin' button, and you've got a plugin with all of your favorite modules pre-compiled into it! You can distribute this self-contained plugin royalty-free with all of your custom solutions; there is no charge regardless of how many customers / users you distribute it to.

• The Advanced Edition allows direct access to the FileMaker clipboard, allowing you to read clipboard contents at runtime. You can even modify the clipboard items and then push the modified versions back onto the clipboard!

• The Advanced Edition allows direct access to the FileMaker SQL engine, which allows you to execute SQL commands directly from any script.

We have released a maintenance update of SuperContainer (version 2.748). This release updates the SuperContainer applet certificate which expired prior to this version release. Please update SuperContainer to prevent the warning regarding an expired certificate.

• Handles Japanese characters better in uploaded filenames
• Fixed bug where the 'checkForFile' flag in the SCDownload function was being ignored. This works correctly now, and will prompt the user before overwriting an existing file on their local computer.
• Fixed resolution, width, and zoom parameters so that they now work correctly for both bitmap and PDF files.
• Vector PDFs can be zoomed to any size with any resolution and retain high quality.
• Now sets the DPI metadata in thumbnails with a requested resolution parameter

• Standalone version now automatically quits in 15 seconds if the user does not make a selection in the quit dialog.

This will fix issues with SuperContainer in standalone mode preventing automated server restarts.

• Fixed an issue with RawData URLs loading the preview instead of the original file, if a preview was generated
• Fixed "style=nolink" behavior
• SCGetContainer function is now more memory efficient
• Fixed "style=center" behavior in Preview mode

SafetyNet 1.1 has been released, with support added for SMTP authentication when sending out e-mail notifications.

360Works has released an update for ScriptMaster. This update fixes an issue in OSX 10.5.8 when using the “Save a Copy as” function when saving over other database files which already exist, as well as with other system popups. This update is recommended for all 10.5.8 users.
